WINDOW
Our Year One students were learning about environmental changes. My students really enjoyed Jeannie Baker's book, 'Window', and wanted to use it for our assembly. I read a page and had a student retell that page in his/her own words and recorded them. Later, all the students got to create their page in an artistic way and we turned the story into a song that we later sang to our audience. We used Hawskley Workman's 'Autumn's Here' and replaced the words with edited down lines of what the student's wrote. I played guitar for this performance and it was a very peaceful and collaborate piece.
